Plans & Usage
Understand how Doculent pricing works and how to monitor your usage.
Plans & Usage
Doculent's pricing is based on how much you use the platform. This guide explains how usage is counted and how to keep track of it.
How Usage Works
Your usage is based on the number of submissions processed. A submission is counted when Doculent extracts data from a document — not when the document is uploaded, and not when it's delivered.
That means:
- Rejected documents don't count — if a classification rule rejects a document, you're not charged
- Quarantined documents don't count until you approve them
- Failed extractions that are retried only count once
- Multiple attachments in one submission count as one submission
Checking Your Usage
- Go to Billing in the left sidebar
- You'll see your current billing period with:
- Submissions used — how many you've processed so far this period
- Plan limit — your total allocation
- Usage percentage — a visual indicator of where you stand
If you're approaching your plan limit, you'll see a notification in the dashboard. You can upgrade your plan at any time to avoid interruptions.
Understanding Your Plan
Your plan includes:
| Feature | What's included |
|---|---|
| Monthly submissions | A set number of document extractions per billing period |
| Channels | Number of active channels you can run |
| Team members | How many people can access the workspace |
| Delivery methods | Webhook, Google Sheets, or both |
| Support | Level of support included with your plan |
What Happens at the Limit?
If you reach your monthly submission limit:
- Existing submissions in progress will complete normally
- New submissions will be queued until your next billing period starts or you upgrade
- You'll be notified well before hitting the limit so you have time to plan
No data is lost and no submissions are rejected — they just wait until you have capacity again.
Viewing Usage History
Under Billing > Usage History, you can see:
- Monthly submission counts over time
- Breakdown by channel
- Trends that help you plan for the future
This is useful for understanding your patterns — maybe volume is higher at certain times of the month, or growing steadily as you onboard more clients.
