Configure your workspace name, industry, and general preferences.
Workspace Settings
Your workspace settings control the general configuration of your Doculent account. You'll find these under Workspace Settings in the left sidebar.
General Settings
Workspace Name
This is how your workspace appears throughout the platform. It's usually your company or team name. To change it:
- Go to Workspace Settings > General
- Update the Workspace Name field
- Click Save
Industry
Your workspace's industry setting determines the default behavior for document processing — things like what fields to extract, what document types to recognize, and how to format results.
Available industries:

| Insurance | ACORD forms, policy applications, submission processing |
| Healthcare | Patient intake, referrals, authorization requests |
| Real Estate | Applications, disclosures, inspection reports |
Changing your industry updates the default settings, but any custom rules or templates you've already created will stay as they are. It's safe to change if you need to.
Timezone
Set your workspace timezone so that timestamps throughout the platform (submission dates, processing times, audit logs) display in your local time.
What Else Can You Configure?
Most of the detailed configuration in Doculent happens at the channel level, not the workspace level. This is by design — it lets you have different processing rules for different types of work, all within the same workspace.
